Cafe My House is a little gem in Ottawa's south end. It's a vegan friendly cafe with mainly vegetarian and vegan items and a few choices for meat/fish eaters as well. I am not a vegan nor a vegetarian but I love this spot and the Mini Macrobiotic burger was a tasty choice. The burger is made with chick peas and other goodness and I believe the patty is gluten free as well (although the bun is not). Served with avocado and kale, the patty itself held together really well although it did slip out of the bun a bit on biting. Here is the description for the burger from their website:

Two organic House mini veggie burgers (chick peas, tofu, kelp, flax seeds, walnuts, cashew nut, potato, garlic, onion, brown rice flour, lemon, kale), avocado, House Vegan Mayo, side grilled potatoes, fresh organic seasonal fruit.

Side note: I have also tried their Tempeh Ruben which was golden and delicious, served on grilled eggplant, kale and dark rye, didn't miss the greasy egg breakfast at all and felt like I had so much energy afterwards. Big flavor. Huge fan of the kale, keep it up Cafe My House!

Well worth the trip:
